Decorent began out of my University of Michigan dorm room in 1998, after my friends and I struggled for over two months to find a place to live. Following up on 2-line classified ads and going door-to-door, as was customary at the time, simply did not work well for us or our peers. When we finally located a suitable off-campus house, I suggested to my future property management company that the Internet could vastly improve methods for marketing rental properties. They agreed; however, they were concerned that maintenance fees would be too costly, if they were to have to pay a webmaster to constantly update the site over the years.
I worked with a team of programmers to develop applications that enable property managers and owners to maintain a sophisticated online presence without paying outside administrative fees. And thus Decorent was born.
In the following years, Decorent solutions gave our Ann Arbor clients a key competitive advantage for securing tenants as market conditions worsened.
Additionally, our clients' suggestions helped us refine the applications to adapt to their optimal workflow.
Currently, our headquarters are located in Philadelphia PA with regional operations in Ann Arbor MI and Chicago IL.
